"Global Digital Economy Lighthouse Program" Officially Launches Call for Submissions
The "Global Digital Economy Lighthouse Program" is jointly organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the International Trade Centre (ITC), and the Global Alliance of Digital Economy Cities (DEC40). It aims to select and commend outstanding practices in the use of digital technology to promote sustainable development worldwide and focuses on exploring exemplary experiences and innovative achievements that are people-oriented, solve practical problems, and help build a fair and inclusive digital future. This solicitation covers the core scenarios of leveraging the digital economy to advance sustainable development, focusing on six major areas: digital city governance, inclusive digital services, green and resilient cities, digital economy and local livelihoods, smart mobility and spatial development, and social inclusion and support for vulnerable groups. Applications are open to various types of enterprises, industrial parks, universities, research institutions, international organizations, industry associations, industry alliances, and other entities in the digital economy sector. The overseas solicitation work has been initiated in advance, and the domestic case application channel is now officially open. The deadline for case submission is 24:00 on June 15, 2026 (Beijing time). After expert review, the final selection results will be officially announced and an award ceremony will be held at the 2026 Global Digital Economy Conference on July 2. In July of the same year, during the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, outstanding case achievements will be showcased. In September of the same year, the annual case collection will be completed and the Global Digital Economy Lighthouse Case Collection (2026) will be officially published and promoted globally through the United Nations system network. From September to December 2026, the project will continue to promote outstanding cases globally and seek partners to drive the replication and implementation of pilot projects.
